Friends, Butler CC Softball at their National Championships

Friends was 2-1 in pool play at the NAIA Tournament and does not advance to the double-elimination part of the tournament. They were in the same poll as the #1 national seed California Baptist who finished 3-0 in pool. Their two wins in pool play is the best a KCAC team has ever done in the tournament.

Butler CC was 0-2 in the double-elimination NJCAA Div I tournament.

Lost the first game to Tallahassee FL 3-2 in extra innings. Had a runner on first base in regulation with a set play to draw a pickoff throw from the catcher and our runner froze and got picked instead of easily going to 2nd. Our next hitter hit a home run to tie it up. Would have been a 2 run shot to win it.
Next game (vs Darton CC from Georgia) we played the first 2 1/2 innings in the rain and simply couldn't get anything going. The game was stopped and continued the next morning and our bats didn't get the wake up call until the 7th inning. Too little too late. Lost 7-3. Finished the season 45-10.
