solo homers from both teams and it's 1-1 top 5. Sammie homered to tie it in this frame, and the ladies have a little something still brewing with 1st and 2nd and only 1 out.

    Eckert strikes out, 2 down.

    Dixon up.

UNI takes a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th on a single, walk, walk and a hit batter.

Aren't all batters supposed to be hitters? ;-)

Nevertheless, heck of a way to give a lead.

Shocks fail to capitalize on one of Breezy's best outings of the year falling to UNI 2-1 in game 1.

Not good...walk, walk, and hit batter ended up winning the game 2-1. But we had 13 Ks on the day. Our 1, 2, 3, and 5 hitters couldn't put the ball in play with 7 Ks on the day.

Shocks lose another close game (at least until the final play). Shocks had a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th.

UNI got a lead off triple off off Sloan. Breezy came on in relief but UNI did score the runner from 3rd to tie the game.

In the bottom of the 7th. Breezy allowed two singles sandwiched around a fielder's choice force out at 2nd. She then walked he next hitter to load the bases before giving up a walk off grand slam. Shocks fall 10-6.

                :(

The way that WSU has lost games to UNI is mind boggling. I think Kasha may have given up a walk off grand slam to lose by 1.....might have even given up something like 8 runs in the last 2 innings of that game.

Most annoying, the game was played on a field not suited for goats...similar to the SIU field today.

I am so SICK of these conference teams not holding up their end of the bargain. It just SUCKS.

l am sure they are not mentioning anything about this in the UNI dugout but Jamie Fisher of UNI has no-hit the Shocks through 5 innings.

Katie pitching pretty well for the Shocks but was a littly shaky in the 1st and gave up the only 2 runs of the game so far.

Allright. The jinx on the UNI pitcher worked. Hayley with a Grand Salami in the top of the 6th. Shocks lead 4-2.

Shocks hold on to win 5-3. Katie picks up the win with 7th inning relief work by Sloan.

Nice job by Katie to keep the Shocks in the game unitl they got their chance and cashed in on the big home run by Hayley.
