The Shocks travel to Tulsa for a midweek doubleheader. With Tulsa being 27-9 on the season and 10-2 in C-USA, good for second place, we definitely have our work cut out for us.

I think those are the Tulsa stats in that release even though they are labeld ISU.
Obviously, Tulsa has a big statistical advantage in the circle. Also, I would say Tulsa stats have been build against a tougher schedule than the Shocks have faced.
The other thing the caught my eye was Tulsa's 39 of 47 in stolen base attempts. They will run.
So yes, the Shocks will have a challenge on their hands.
But as Hovpen says, approach it as an opporunity.

Shocks trail 4-1 after 6.
Tulsa brings in their ace, Aimee Creger (0.89 ERA), to pitch the 7th in relief of Lac Middlebrooks (2.45 ERA) who went the 1st six innings. Creger had been the DH and she had 2 hits including a solo homer in the 6th.
Creger makes quick work of the Shocks in the 7th striking out the side.
Tulsa takes Game 1 of the DH by a 4-1 score.
Footnote: Creger is a freshman and has pitched 3 no-no's this year. Looks like Tulsa found themselves a jewel.

Tulsa takes the 2nd game 5-0.
Tulsa only outhit the Shocks 7 to 4, but they bunched 5 of those in the 3rd to score 4 and added a solo homer in the 6th.
Interesting that Jamie Hull was 1st out of the pen. Katie did not pitch today. Not sure if she is ill, injured or the coaches have lost confidence in her.
Tulsa's offensive numbers on the year are not significantly better than the Shocks but they apparently can pitch and we only saw their #1 in the 7th inning of game 1. Good example of how pitching can carry a softball team.
