I was somewhat surprised at the ease of which the Shocks dispatched a pretty good Creighton team. The sweep by scores of 30-26, 30-20 and 30-19 is pretty impressive in and of itself, but I'm not really sure the scores totally reflect how dominant the Shocks were tonight. Quite a few of the Creighton points came on unforced errors by the Shocks.

When the Shocks kept the ball in play there was no questions as to which was the superior team.

The Shocks outhit Creighton 50-20-125=0.240 to 34-24-118=0.085.

The Shocks out-dug the #10 nationally ranked team in digs 56-46.

Great performance by the Lady Shocks. Abby and Sara are in great position to capture their 3rd regular season MVC championship in the last four years.

Senior nights are always tough and last night was no exception. If you noticed, Sara was standing in the tunnel trying her best to stay composed and wasn't too terribly successful.

I know the ladies are focused on a bigger prize and realize last night was just the end of one chapter.

If you were there last night and listened to the nearly endless list of accomplishments for these 2 ladies it was more than impressive. The biggest applause was when they announced Sara's and Abbey's academic accomplishments.

In a sporting world filled with drug use, steroids, violence, academic problems, trash talking, bad sportsmanship and a total disregard for anything classy, these ladies provide PERFECT ROLE MODELS.

As a parent, if my daughter is half as successful in life as either of these ladies, I will consider it more than a blessing and I will leave this world a very happy man.

Thank you Sara and thank you Abbey!

Very well said Doc. I began attending Shocker VB matches about 10 games into the 2003 season. Sara Younes hooked me and my wife with her great athleticism, her class and her record 14 ace performance against San Diego State.

Sara and Abby have been a big part of every Shocker team since that time (2004-2007) and it just will not be the same once they have moved on.

What a great picture of these two outstanding young women on goShockers.com:

A great big Thank You to Sara and Abby for giving us 4 great years of outstanding effort, talent and class and best wishes to Sara and Abby in all of their future endeavors, whatever they may be.

Lambo, said in his postgame show that he thought Sara would play profesionally in Europe next year if she could get her knee in shape during the offseason. So maybe we aren't totally done following Sara's VB career.

Nothing better than a Big win in dominating fashion over a quality opponent who is one of your biggest rivals in the MVC on Senior Night.

What a great way to spend an evening.

Some very proud parents on the floor last night with their daughters.

I thought Sara's Dad was great. No false pretenses there. Came across as a Salt of the Earth, good ol' hardworking Kansas farmer, which is what he is. Looked like he was enjoying every minute of the adulation being showered on his daughter as well he should.

I was a little surprised Abby and Sara were not interviewed on the post game radio show. Ted interviewed Coach Lamb and Melissa Granville.
Perhaps Abby and Sara were interviewed by Mike Kennedy on the TV post game show. Did anyone watch the match on the tube?

Abby Harsh wins her School Record 5th MVC Player of the Week honor.

WICHITA, Kan. ? Wichita State volleyball student-athlete Abby Harsh has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week for the week of Nov. 5-11.

I would not be terribly surprised if Abby receives strong consideration for MVC Player of the Year honors.

I agree. She has statistically been at the top of the Valley in a number of categories and has run the offense on the best team in the Valley. She certainly deserves to be among the front runners.
