Heck, they beat UNI in the McLeod even with one of their best players suspended.

Haven't really watched WSU, but I'm guessing they're pretty good too. But UNI could beat them if the Panthers play well.

They didn't really have anyone on the level of Sampson and Stelken for blocks and kills (IMHO), but they put a better team on the floor overall, sorry to say. Unless they had a lot of graduation losses, I would expect them to still be damn tough.

I do wonder if UNI fans look at NCAA stats. http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/...?sportCode=WVB For example:
    NCAA® Women's Volleyball - Division I
Blocks Per Set - Through Games 09/20/2009

    #7 Wichita St. 40 29 177 2.94
    #55 UNI 45 24 167 2.39

Our digs seem down from last year but our blocking is much better. We need another killer (Adney?) to terminate points and we need to get our passing more in-sync but the "Sarah McGee & Stephanie Tokarz" blocking tandum (with help from Emily Stockman, Mary Elizabeth Hooper, Katie Niggemeyer, etc.) is marching along nicely.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Shocks, ranked #20 nationally, come to town Friday. They and the Panthers and Bears have been dominating the Valley the past 4-6 years. This has been a great rivalry the past several years. Bears spanked WSU in the conference tourney last year, ending Shocks hopes of gaining a high seed in the NCAA's. You can bet the Shocks are pointing to take down the Bears, partly from the hurt of that numbing loss they incurred and also for plain old gettin one on the road and a leg up in the conference.

Would be great to have a big turnout Friday. If Bears were going to Wichita, it'd draw over 4,000. Talk to your friends, this is one to get up for!
