Fifth (& currently last) post in the thread: I heard Wichita State won in 3-2 with NU taking the first two sets and Yanz setting the last three with WSU winning. Sounds like the lone real bright spot was Delano.
Spring matches are not meaningful but ... with a bunch of seniors and FOY MEH, next year could be very special. The sky is the limit. :DSome posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

A few interesting (at least to me) additions to this match.
The game was played in Scottsbluff at Western Nebraska CC. Lest you think this was a simple practice/exhibition, it was played in front of a sold out crowd of 2400 part time Bluejay fans. I can promise you that 5th set had feeling and for WSU it was a hostile environment.
Remember both teams played without their outgoing seniors (Jakubov and Broussard are not competing). After winning the first 2 games by identical scores of 25-20, the Huskers sat down their All America setter Sydney Anderson, however her backup is no slouch. Jessica Yanz was a 2008 transfer from Penn State and was a part time starter on one of their National Championship teams. Hardly a replaced by a scrub.
One of the nation's top recruits, Hannah Werth (an '09 incoming freshman) played the first two games and then was replaced by redshirt freshman Kaitlynn James, also one of the highest rated recruits in the country.
Bottom line....we're not too bad. I look forward to an in depth recount of the match from Lambo at the banquet this week.

WuDrWu: I'll try to remember to say "Hi" at the banquet. I'm sure Cold will also attend.
I'm sure all Shocker fans favor increased academic and athletic support for WSU and will work toward this goal, to the best of their abilities.

Another account of the game ...
“They’re amazing,” said (Nebraska's AA setter Sydney) Anderson. “I don’t think any of us expected them to come out the way they did. They run a very fast offense. Our big goal was to serve tough and we didn’t do that, so they could run their offense and they could run it fast. They did really well.”
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

From http://volleytalk.proboards.com/inde...d=26272&page=2:
Venue was nice, but not suited for VB with balls bouncing off rafters, scoreboard, basketball goals a lot. Setter/hitter communication off quite a bit with lots of tips. Delano looked good for the most part as did Banworth. WS serving fairly impressive, NU blocking not. Lots of NU hitting errors from freshmen. Methinks Larson graduation leaves a bigger hole than we'll be willing to admit. A 400+ % middle like Cooper may have allowed the outsides to deliver as well. WS well coached and prepared overall. Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
