Loganbill, a redshirt freshman from Moundridge, spent last year watching and learning with the Wichita State volleyball team. She intended to redshirt, even before she fell off a weight machine during an abdominal workout in September. The resulting concussion and shoulder injury sidelined her most of the fall. Surgery on her right shoulder in December knocked her out of spring practices.

So, more than most, Loganbill is thrilled to play this summer. More than most, she is excited to start practice next month. The uncertainty after surgery to tighten her shoulder capsule is replaced by anticipation.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Dana Loganbill is mowing and painting with her father this summer. Painting — up and down, side to side — isn't just a job.

"I guess it's a little bit of rehab," she said.
Let's hope the Mr. Miyagi School of Rehab works as well for Dana as it did for Daniel-san.
