  • 2010 Recruit

    I can't believe I just typed "2010"........

I don't think I have seen it or mentioned it, but according to volleyball and website guru Rich Kern, WSU has a verbal committment from MB Hannah Eakin from Wichita Falls Tx.

When I would visit family in Texas and others would ask where I was living now, "Wichita" always meant "Wichita Falls" to them. Which has nothing to do with being 6' 2". :)

Rich still lists Stephanie Ziegler as a committment for next year...I'm not saying anything except we didn't hear her name mentioned on signing day.

SZ was honorable mention all state in Arizona this year.

Hannah's stats were impressive her first 2 years in HS. If I remember correctly, she already has the career record for blocks (totals for her Jr year were not included yet) and would be on pace to hold the career record for kills as well. I have no idea what kind of competition she faces although Texas volleyball is pretty darned competitive.

Her club results should provide more info, but getting that information any way except first hand is highly unlikely.

I am not given to think that SZ is coming. (How is that for convoluted grammar!)

I have had the same experience working many years in Dallas in my younger days. It is simply ingrained in Texans that civilization does not exist North of the Red River.
