In the case of a couple of years ago it hurt. But last year it probably helped get an extra team in.

Who are they gonna get to schedule a game if they get rid of it, and does any other conference not play a tourney either?

Actually, a lot of conferences don't play tournaments in volleyball (for instance, I don't think either the Big 10 or SEC does and a number more don't as well).

The reason I brought it up, is that Lamb and other MVC coaches don't like having a conference tournament. Obviously the a lot of other conferences don't have one.
