I do have to give some props to CU. They made some really nice defensive plays tonight as well. It was just too bad for them that the Shox can play D as well as anyone.

Speaking of which, is there anybody as good as Kelly at her position? She amazes me every game with some of the digs she pulls out.

This is my first post, and I might as well own up to being a student. I don't know if many of them made it over to the game, but most the basketball team showed up to a free pizza pre-party for students before the night's action. Garret decided that he was gonna try on Ramon's hat as they were leaving, not sure what the fallout from that was. Looks like a chummy bunch, makes me hope for good things coming up here in a couple of weeks! :yahoo:
Glad to see the student support picking up this year. You guys are doing a great job. Now we just need to build on your numbers.

        Thanks.

I don't really mean to call attention to us, but a large part of the new student support (starting last season and growing now) is coming from the Honors Program students. I won't name names, :innocent: but some of the active members here campaign pretty hard for our Lady Shox

Tonight was my first night for Shockervision. Now I know what life's like on the other side.. sigh..

It was ok. Something must be up with my computer from time to time because the damn thing buffered every 30 sec (annoying) or it would cut out periodically with Mike K's voice trailing out every other minute or so (very annoying). Other than that, I got used to the replays and icons fairly well, although as others have said in the past, it did get mildly annoying when it interrupted live play.

So this was really the first time for me seeing the ladies in action. They looked great against a supposedly decent group. Looking forward for more tomorrow night!

Not a bad crowd either for a Friday night with football playoffs going on.

Nice job ladies. Let's keep it goin'.. :goshocks:

Thanks for the support. While you're at it, continue to rally up the students for the men's and women's b-ball games.

I don't wanna see any empty student section seats this year for a men's game please.. :good:

Really surprised I was thinking another 5 set nail bitter. Creighton kind of looked flat or something. Not like a team tied for second. Kind of a let down the Shocks really beat them bad. Good job ladies.

That 3rd set was real close. Once CU made their final unforced error, I knew the shocks would win.

That was a lot of fun.

Also, Stockman's kills were sick. In the third set she had two spikes back to back that were pure wicked.

The only way this line could be more classic is if you'd said "Tiddlywinks" instead of "Dominoes". Nice work, 1234! :good:

I'm with you there. I thought this would be another 4 or 5 set match with close games.

The Shocks absolutely dominated the BlueJays in the 1st two sets.

Creighton did play a little better in Set 3, but I thought it was close due to the Shocks losing some focus and losing their edge as much as it was Creighton playing better. Looked like we were going to a 4th set when CU was up 20-16. At that point the Shocks seemed to regain their focus to pull out the win, overcoming a questionable double-hit on MEH that took a point away from the Shocks to tie the score at 21 instead of the Shocks going up 22-20.

I will say this for Creigthon they can definitely pound the ball when the get a good swing at it.

One player who was focused throughout the 3rd set was Emily Stockman. I believe Mike Kennedy said she had 8 kills and no attack errors in 18 attempts in the 3rd set and pretty much carried the Shocks for the set.

Lambo in both his post game show and in the Eagle article gave himself and his staff credit for a great scouting report and game plan. Lambo deserves all the credit in the world and credit to the players for executing the game plan.

The next six matches are against the bottom 6 teams in the league.

Hopefully, the Shockers can use this stretch to really pull their game together for the stretch run and post-season.

SIU and Evansville are scrappy teams but we get both of them at home. Illinois State could be competitve in Normal.

However, 27-0 seems like a very good possibility going into the last two regular season matches which are on the road at UNI and MSU.

Both of those matches should be real battles.

I completely agree '72. I hate to talk about it and jinx anything but 27-0 seems hard to ignore right now.

We haven't talked about it but how about no Stephanie Tokarz and no Angela Jakubov last night? That's 3 seasons of All Missouri Valley talent sitting on the bench all night Friday. Steph has struggled this season.....Angela I have no idea. That makes 2 matches iirc that she has sat out.

I will say that with McGee, Niggemeyer and Backus on the front line that makes for an athletic and extremely dangerous attacking and blocking team for all but the most elite in the country.

The first set was really fun last night.

Must be really nice to have players good enough to leave all-conference selections sitting. That speaks well for Coach Lamb and his staff with their recruitment.

Yes it does. It is hard to fathom, but we can roll out the same team next year that played last night, minus Kelly. I am not trying to dimish her value or skills (I believe she will get some AA consideration), but I am saying that we will be dynamite up front. AND Chelsey Feekin is going to play somewhere....from day 1 I promise you. Where I have no idea. Hooper is the most spectacular recruit Lambo has landed to date. You've heard me brag on her for almost 2 years telling you how much better we were going to be.......Chelsey will be another step up. The future is still very, very bright......BUT ENJOY THE RIDE!

Angela did not play in either of the matches on the last road trip to Evansville and SIU. I never heard any explanation as to why. Injury or illness?.

She looked OK to me in the warm-ups last night so it is surprising that she did not play last night. Hard to believe Angela won't be in the mix for some playing time.

I do think we need to get Amanda as much experience as possible over the next six matches. She is really coming on and I was also impressed with her service game last night. Also seems that a left-handed hitter tends to disrupt the other teams blocking schemes somewhat.

Finally, I must say that Karalee Langford (#12) can really boogie.
