Shocks vs Montana State

Montana State gave Washington State a very competitive match earlier today losing by scores of 21-25,23-25 and 20-25.

Shocks out to an 18-9 lead, but Monatan State is on a 7-0 run to narrow the game to 18-16.

One negative tendency with this team is that they occassionally give up long runs to the opponent. On the flip side, this never seems to rattle them.

Shocks get things back on track to take Set 1 going away by a score of 25-18.

Shocks go up 2-0 with a 25-16 win in Set 2.

Played very clean and solid VB throughout the set.

Shocks fall behind 0-4 in Set 3, rally to tie it at 4, then fall behind by 4 again at 5-9 and now have rallied to take a 12-10 lead and force a Montana State time out.

Shocks stretch the lead to 20-14 when Lambo starting playing his reserves which almost backfired, but Shocks held on fro a 24-22 win in Set 3 for a sweep and the outright Tournament Championship.

3 Tournament Championships and an 11-0 non-conference record against mostly good competition is probably far beyond even Lambo's best expectations.

Now on to the MVC. Missouri State next Friday at Koch.

Very few reasons not to be there if you are a real Shocker fan.
