who just won the Big East tournament with a 3-0 win over Liberty. I know, neither of those schools play basketball in the Big East. I'll leave the explanation to someone else.

They remain undefeated and will doubtless maintain their #1 ranking.

      • AAC Volleyball Recap - Sunday, November 5th.

        Comment

        • SMU takes the first two sets at home against Temple 25-21 and 25-17. In Set 1 SMU pulled away from a 16-16 tie to finish the set on a 9-5 run. In Set 2 Temple jumped out to an early 5-1 lead and still lead by 4 at 13-9. The Owls then fell apart as SMU outscored them 16-4 to finish Set 2. Not looking like the Owls will be much help to the Shockers tonight.

In Set 3 Temple moved in front by 4 at 15-11 but SMU rallied to lead 23-21. However, a 5-1 run by Temple gave them the 26-24 win to force a 4th set.

Temple again takes a lead at 17-14 in Set 4, falls behind 21-22 then scores 4 in a row to take the set 25-22 and force a deciding 5th set.

          • 13-13 in the 5th.

            14-13 Temple. Timeout SMU.

The 5th set hasn't been more than a point difference.

            15-14 SMU Timeout Temple

            16-15 Temple

A block ends it. 17-15 Temple.

Pablo now has the likelihood of WSU winning the AAC at >99%

              • Temple wins it 17-15. Great comeback by the Owls and a big boost to the Shocks. At 15-all Temple gets back-to-back stuff blocks to win.

                Temple 3 - SMU 2 (21-25, 17-25, 26-24, 25-22, 17-15)

                Tulsa 3 - UConn 1 (25-23, 25-16, 17-25, 25-22)

                • For all of us who care, also tonight,

                  TULSA 3-1 UConn

UConn lost despite outhitting Tulsa .208 to .165 for the match. UConn had 58 kills to 37 for Tulsa although the Huskies did have 11 more attack errors than did Tulsa. Tulsa had a 4 point advantage in Service Aces and Blocks. All in all though if you looked at the box score and not the set scores you would probably have thought UConn won this match. Perhaps UConn made a ton more mistakes like net violations, double hits, etc.

If the Shocks defeat both ECU and Cincy this weekend then I'll buy that but I won't be betting against the Shocks.
