  • 2016 Schedule

Great to see that Wichita State and Creighton will renew their rivalry after taking last season off. With the Shockers coming off a Round-of-32 season and the Bluejays off a Sweet Sixteen season, this figures to be an electric season-opening match. Given their geographic proximity and volleyball prowess, these programs should be scheduling one another every season! Lamb and Booth are two of the best coaches in the country at maximizing their players' considerable talent.

Great to see and Ames isn't a bad trip. So looks like Colorado State Sept 8 weekend and followed by a trip to USTA Sept. 16/17th. Does this mean the WSU tourney will be labor day weekend?

WSU and UNI always put together quality, challenging OOC schedules.

        Panthers non-conference slate includes:
        - Miami (Ohio), Saint Louis, @ Michigan
        - Creighton, Kentucky, @ USC
        - UN-Omaha, @ UMKC, @ Kansas
        - Iowa State (home)
        - a home tournament with: Northwestern, Syracuse, NDSU. Illinois State is also playing in this tourney, and UNI will play their home MVC match against the Redbirds that Sunday)

The Shockers will head to Cedar Falls on October 1, and the Panthers come to Wichita on October 28.

Still waiting on a contract for the home tournament, but the schedule is basically set. The non-conference slate is yet another tough challenge that Lambo enjoys doing.

Also good to see that both UNI and Missouri State are scheduling tough as well. If only Valley basketball could figure out scheduling the way Valley volleyball has, maybe it (like MVC volleyball) could have multiple NCAA teams.

That is a challenging schedule. Hope the Shocks are up to it, but it does provide a great opportunity for building their NCAA resume.

There are a few Valley teams that always put together a respectable OOC schedule (in both sports). The problem is the rest of the league that doesn't.

Shocks add Cincinnati to fill out the Shocker Volleyball Classic field and complete their 2016 schedule with a very, very solid line up of matches in the non-conference.

                  http://www.goshockers.com/news/2016/7/15/shockers-announce-2016-volleyball-schedule.aspx

12 of the Shocks 1st 16 matches will be away from Koch Arena. 8 of the last 14 will be at home.
