That set was just a little too short. WSU had the momentum. Just carry that into set 2, ladies.

Sometimes you run into a team that for whatever reason has your number.

            Shockers 0-3 Southern Illinois
            23, 20, 22

The scores are closer than the match.

Lambo felt good about the plan they put together. But we lost serve-receive, and we lost the left-side battle. Mikaela hit zero and Shimen (who did not play half of the second set) hit negative. It is hard to win a match with a middle-right attack. Abbie had career kind of numbers (14-0-23-.609), but the Salukis didn't care because they were going to win the left-side with their quick attack.

Thought we had Jody hitting a decent pct on the left before she moved to the right.

Tough night for the Lady Shocks. Gotta give credit to SIU. I think they have established that they are the better team this year. Actually, I think the Shocks have done quite well considering that they have never really settled into a consistent rotation and Lambo is still tinkering with his lineup.

That said the Shocks only need a win over Evansville tomorrow to secure a co-championship and who knows maybe MSU will help the Shocks out against SIU tomorrow.

Looking forward to Senior Night tomorrow against Evansville.

I think he would love not having to do that, but beyond Abbie and Katie, he doesn't know what he is going to get from night to night. Shimen was a non-factor so in the middle of the second set, Jody came in to play all six rotations in place of Shimen/Jenny. KatyD was getting schooled by Pippen (who schools a lot of people) in the middle, so Katie became a middle for the third set with Shimen returning to the court in KatyD's "spot." As has been mentioned, the Salukis appear to be a tough matchup for us because of our left-side.

No doubt and as I said the Shocks have done very well considering they have been dealing with a somewhat unsettled lineup all year. Lambo said something in his last radio show along the lines of wanting to bet more settled into an approach next spring so that when they get to the fall they will be more settled.

Mikaela, Jody, Shimen and Katy D. had a combined attack line of 16-16-61 = 0.000, That just won't win you many matches but I have to give SU a lot of credit for those results as well.
