Sorry, but this is a different weekend - it deserves its own thread.

Drake is playing WSU tonight. So naturally the LiveStats provider has Washington State as the visitor with their Cougar logo, even.

How can we improve our blocking? We average 1.74 blocks per set which ranks 256th. We rank 8th in the conference in blocks per set. It appears to me to be our biggest deficiency.

There's little doubt that defense is a shortcoming of this team. Never fear, help is on the way.

Shocks closed hard late and take the 1st set 26-24. Drake is a much improved program.

Ask and ye shall receive.....Lehman with 2 straight blocks and the Shocks are up 5-1 in set 2.

MSU is visiting **** Falls in what could be a long, long match. UNI won the 1st set 25-16 but MSU leads 11-7 in the 2nd.

Meanwhile Indy St is hanging with the Redbirds. Trees are down 1-0 from a 25-21 match and are holding steady in the second.
EDIT. It went to 13-17 birds right after I said all that...

MSU takes the 2nd set 25-17.

                        ISUr pasting ISUb 25-21, 25-18.

Nothing available for Evansville v Loyola.....wow, I'm stunned, I gotta lie down.

SIU up on Bradley 2-0. Poor Braves

Shocks call timeout after a little Drake run but WSU leads 20-16.

                        Reilly kill 21-16

                        Kill Allen 21-17

                        Kill Whitledge 22-17

                        Kill Drake 22-18

                        Kill Lehman 23-18

                        Ace Mash 24-18

                        Kill Lehman 25-18.

                          Redbirds up 14-6

I heard Evansville and Loyola were 1-1 but who really cares?

                          Shocks lead 7-6

                          Drake error 8-6

No doubt our blocking is not what we are used to. I think a lot of that is due to inexperience. Blocking isn't just about size. Anticipation and being properly positioned are key and should improve as the Ladies gain experience. That said size doesn't hurt and Katie is a little undersized for a MB and Jenny is a little undersized for an OH. Masher is not exactly an explosive jumper either.
