I've been waiting for someone to start a thread on this. First home game of the season. Conference opener. A lot of good thing to look forward to with this young, but talented group. Looks like a new banner will be unfurled. Let's pack the house!

Does anyone know from the past when a basketball recruit is visiting and there are volleyball games that weekend, do they usually have the recruit there for the Fri or Sat matches? Or both? It would be great to have a really good crowd there on the evening that Dazon Ingram is in attendance this weekend.

Tough night for the Shocks. Our inability to score reared it's substantially ugly head again. Shocks lost 21-25, 22-25 and 19-25 (I think). Lambo tried some things but really very little worked.

Just don't know where our points are going to come from.....anyone hear the postgame? Lambo comments?

No audio tonight for some reason. Shockervision video was fine but no audio with it. The listen live link indicated the event did not exist.

It was not very good volleyball. Virtually no student body representation at the game. Actually, a very disappointing evening.

The Shocks obviously did not play well. Perhaps the poorest I have ever seen from a Lambo team. OTOH, I will give Illinois State some credit. I thought they played pretty well and were clearly the better team tonight and certainly they deserved and earned the win.

Hard to say whether or not playing for the 1st time in front of a good Shocker home crowd may have been a little intimidating to some of our youngsters.

While @WuDrWu: was right about our inablity to terminate attacks it appeared to me that the Shocks were outplayed in every phase of the game tonight.

Probably the biggest positive of the night was coming back from the 0-8 start in Set 3 to time the set at 13-all. Unfortunately we did not have the ability to maintain that focus and quickly reverted back to our uneven play.

Not really sure what we have with this team but at this point my expectations are pretty modest. Just hoping the team steadily improves as the season progresses.

BTW, what's up with the purple parking permits? Have they heard that there is a school up north whose color is purple? Seriously, I don't get it??? If you can't do yellow or black, go with something neutral like white or green. What's next arena security wearing crimson and blue? Sheesh

That is disappointing. They should be promoting the heck out of these games to the students. Shocker Hall is what 286 steps from Koch arena? Give them free hot dogs or banana splits or crappy frappes or something. I don't know just do something about it. Good grief.

I think efforts have been made. Nothing has caught the fancy of the student body though. It is what it is.
