not sure what USC home attendance has to do with anything, since the match will be held in Austin, TX.
Will probably be a decent crowd (last time Texas hosted a regional, they drew 3731 for the semifinals), but the majority will be Longhorn fans

It was a random USC barb I threw out there. I'm very well aware that the match is in Austin.

The discussion wasn't in reference to the regional, but as a tangent in a discussion of USC's strength as a program. It is just a little weird that, as good as USC has been for such a long time, every other school in this regional (Texas, Florida, and Wichita State) has larger average attendance by between 942 and 1,386 during the regular season than USC. I just don't get the lack of fan support for PAC 12 schools given the productivity on the court.

Texas fans if they show up early will undoubtedly root for us. We could have a good contingent down there too since we have some Texans on the roster.

A volleyball article in the Eagle, talking about the foundation for the program being laid by others.

Another volleyball article in the Eagle, this one centered on our offensive and defensive variety against opponents who do not know us well. Interestingly, Mick Haley had Lambo's phone number before the weekend.

Interesting blog and match material from the SC website including a video (their coach is respectful of the MVC as a volleyball conference).

                        Link is: http://www.usctrojans.com/blog/

Also if you follow the links to the match preview their is a mention that the first year volleyball " USC student manager Umberto "Umbi" Gatti came to Troy from Wichita State where studied business for two years."

Umberto Gatti? I wonder if he's related to John Gatti, or possibly Arturo Gatti? Perhaps he's related to famous Italian sculptor Umberto Boccioni or maybe his family owned Umberto's Clam House where Crazy Joe Gallo was killed?

That's right, king of the Gattis and the Umbertos.

So are heading into USA vs USSR Hockey circa 1980 territory here at least in terms of odds:

On February 22, 1980, the United States Olympic hockey team pulled off one of the greatest upsets in sports history, defeating the Soviet Union, 4-3.Back in ...

In the Volletalk PtW contest there were 82 entiries.

65% picked Arkansas over Wichita State
83% picked Kansas to win the sub-regional over the winner of Arkansas-Wichita State

In the Austin regional Texas was favored to win the regional by 42 contestants and USC by 39 contestants (there was 1 incomplete ballot).

Coach Sanders, Jackie Church, Emily Adney and Chelsey Feekin were on a radio show in Austin this morning. I think it's here

The Bobby Bones Show with Bobby, Amy, Lunchbox, Eddie and the whole crew!

Although I admit, it doesn't look right. They appear to have podcasts available so maybe we can catch the comments later today.
