      Set 1: 14 1 25 .520 ...12 Ties 4 Lead changes ... UAB 13 7 34 .176
      Set 2: 12 4 34 .235 ...10 Ties 4 Lead changes ... UAB 12 9 37 .081
      Set 3: 11 3 28 .286 ... 7 Ties 1 Lead change ... UAB 16 5 37 .297

The 7 service errors and 0 aces really hurt UAB in set 3.

Glad to see Gonzo on the court. She is the only one to reach double digit kills. Don't recall a match where Swifty got more digs(6) than kills(5). She also added 3 aces.

Kinda hard to tell from the snippets on X, but it looked like Maddie was playing the M1 at times.

The offence seemed fairly distributed between the players. Gonzo had 21 attempts, Brooklyn and Swifty both had 16, Emerson had 14, Maddie had 12 and Izzi had 8. Pins-41. Middles and setter- 36.

Glad to see that Tulsa took a set from Rice. Rice hit .220, Tulsa hit .173. Rice had 11 blocks, 6 solo. Tulsa had 12 blocks, 1 solo.
Other than that match, it was a Friday of sweeps.

If you told me that Morgan and Emerson were going to go 9-3-30 = .200 I would not have expected a sweep. But Gonzo, Maddie, Brooklyn and Izzi combined to hit 28-5-57 = .404l. Gonzo line was especially impressive at 10-0-21 = .476, especially since he high error rate was her biggest issue earlier in the season. Only 8 errors on 87 attacks by Shocks was pretty impressive.

Annalie picked up 3 more service errors and Emerson 1 more and neither had an ace. So that drops their combined ace to error ratio under .50. The only other service error by the Shockers was from Morgan but she more than made up for that with 3 aces. The Shocks picked up 7 points at the service line as both teams had 5 aces but the Shocks only had 5 errors to 12 for UAB.

I suspect we may see more service errors vs Rice as the Shockers try to serve the Owls tough and keep them from getting too comfortable on the attack.

          Now Figstats is

          35 Rice
          67 Shockers
          78 East Carolina
          80 Tulsa

This is closer to the NCAA numbers and includes last night's matches. I suspect data error(s) in the previous numbers above from Figstats.

Rice is just so much better on the back line.....I suspect our biggest problem will be not being able to put the ball down, then trying to do too much. Very similar to what you've forecasted with serving, errors due to trying to be too good.
