After this weekend, the first NCAA RPI of the season will be published? As of yesterday's matches, Figstats has Tulsa at 58 and the Shockers at 59 for the top two AAC teams. It will be interesting to see what merely playing Nebraska does to the RPI.

Had to chuckle a little at that. Needless to say you weren't proven wrong. Nebraska sweeps 13, 12, 12.

Emerson actually had a pretty decent match going as she was hitting over .300 midway through the 3rd set with 12 kills and only 2 errors but 3 attack errors including 2 attacks blocked by Nebraska dropped her to 12-5-34 = .206 and led the Shocks with 4 block assists

Not sure any questions were answered this weekend. Not sure there are any answers especially against this level of competition. Maddie Wilson played in 2 sets today and was 1-1-7 = .000 with 1 block assist. Obviously Maddie not at full speed but remains to be seen if she can provide in kind of significant boost.

No help, which shows how well I understand RPI. After the Saturday matches across the land, the top RPIs for the AAC per Figstats are the Shockers at 70, Tulsa at 75, and Florida Atlantic at 76.

I wonder how much the loss to Long Beach hurt us. I think they use some sort of fancy slide rule to figure the RPI.

I listened to the Nebraska game live on Nebraska radio. The play by play guy is really colorful. Sure, he is a homer, but you want that from your home team commentator. I believe their color analyst is Coach Cook's daughter. They did have a pregame interview with Coach Lamb. I did catch the TV replay later.

            Some things I noticed:
Annalie played middle back for most of the game. I think they may have done this because they were trying to use the blockers to take away line shots and the hard crosscourt cut shots, so the blockers would funnel their outside hits toward the middle of the court. They still crushed many crosscourt shots.
We tried a few triple blocks. I think this was because the plan for two blockers was not working that well.
I think all of the outside hitters played on the right side, with the exception of Emmerson. I think we may be playing right side by committee. It has to be difficult to work things out when you only go through one and a half service rotations per set. The Shockers were sided out near 80%. The Shockers sided out Nebraska less that 40%.
Maddie played mostly middle, I don't remember her playing at the pins. That might be to ease her back into the game or to not aggravate her injury or the other outsider hitters are playing better at that position.
We had a lot of overpasses. Izzi almost had a kick that went for a kill. A few of Izzi's attack attempts were her redirecting overpasses.
            The team didn't give up.
            Nebraska is really, really good.
