Looking at the box score on the WSU website, they took 2 kills and 2 attempts from Brooklyn's stats as they appear on statbroadcast. 15 7 29 .276. One kill went to Morgan (16) and one to Sarah (5). Don't know which stat lines are correct. The statbroadcast feed from this game was wonky for me. It would list 2 or more points at a time, and at one point statbroadcast said the score was 19-20, but they had already put up the final score for set 1 on twitter. A five minute delay seems a bit much even if Jackson and Timberlake were keeping score.
Too bad Annalie didn't get credit for a kill. Looks like the up ref called a double (Don't know why) on KSU. Sarah had some quick reactions to keep that ball in play.
The Shockers had three sets in a row- 2, 3, and 4- with 15 kills in the second KSU match, the only match of the weekend that they got more kills than their opponent. Need to squeeze out a few more kills per set consistently.
In the IU match Sarah, Emerson, and Morgan all had one assist each. The DSs, Annalie (3) and Reagan (1), had 4 assists. In the second KSU match, Sarah, Emerson, and Morgan all had one assist. Reagan (1) and Annalie (7) combined for 8. Looks like that first game may have been a one-off.
The Shockers did have more aces than service errors in both games on Saturday. That's going in the right direction. Grace is growing her collection of aces. There are several Shockers that have started their own seasonal collections. Emerson- 6, Izzi-4, Reagan-4, Katie- 3,
Good win against KSU. The Shockers had to feel a bit worn down after going 5 against IU. Coulda/shoulda got that win, but I think that experience will help against Kansas this Wednesday. It can be done.
