  • Shocker SB v Tulsa

The Shockers continue their conference schedule this weekend hosting a series with Tulsa. The Friday and Saturday games start at 6 pm while the Sunday game starts at noon.

The stats below are for conference games only. That's a small sample, but this is the fifth of nine conference weekends, so ...

The Golden Hurricane are 23-11 overall with an 8-4 record in the AAC. The highest OPS of .896 belongs to Claira Skaggs with four others also above .800. Each of three pitchers have four conference starts: Anneca Anderson (ERA of 0.99 and WHIP of 0.81), Maura Moore (2.67 and 0.93), and Kylee Nash (1.78 and 1.31).

The Shockers also have an 8-4 record in conference. They have four hitters with an OPS above 1.000. Leading the way is Addison (1.822 and six homers) followed by Taylor (1.759 and seven homers), CC (1.640 and five homers), and Krystin (1.350). Caroline and Bailey are in the .800s.

The pitching in starts-order is Alex (five with 3.98 and 1.70), Chloe (four with 6.30 and 1.80), Lauren (two with 2.52 and 1.48), and Alison (one with 7.16 and 2.32). Chloe has the four starts and seven appearances but only 10.0 innings.

Yet again, I am away for all of this.

EDIT: The Saturday game is a 1 pm start.

If good pitching beats good hitting this might prove to be a tough weekend for the Shocks.

Winning the series would be a success as Tulsa is really solid.

Don’t walk the lead off in the 7th. Melting down. Ouch.

Feels a repeating story this year. Late meltdowns.. Often after big comeback innings

Looks like HCKB wants to boost her defensive lineup. Putting Sierra Hoekstra at short, moving Sami to second and moving CC into the DP spot.

That Tulsa pitcher basically gave up in the 5th.

The Shocks have the offense going to today and Alison getting the job done in the circle. The Shocks lead 10-3 after 4 innings.

CC and Addie are both 2 for 2 plus a walk and a hit by pitch. They have scored a total of 5 runs and each have 1 rbi. Pretty much exactly what you want out of your 1-2 hitters.

After CC singled and Addie doubled leading off Taylor struck out and the Shocks were on able to score 1 on a groundout to short by Burbs.

In the 2nd inning the Shocks loaded the bases with two outs on a Sierra walk, Krystin single and a CC walk. Addie was then hit by a pitch to push Sierra across the plate and Taylor made up for her 1st inning strikeout with 2 RISP with a grand slam home run down the LF line.

The Shocks tacked on 4 more in the 4th. CC singled in Sierra who had double leading off the inning. CC moved to 2nd on a wild pitch and then to 3rd an an Addie infield single. Addie and CC then pulled off a double steal with CC scoring. After Taylor walk Burbs moved Addie and Taylor up to 3rd and 2nd on a ground out to 2nd. Sami then delivered a 2-run, 2-out double to right center.

Alison gave up 2 out runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th on a single, wild pitch and a single. After Tulsa got 2 one with no outs in the 4th the Shocks did turn a 6-4-3 double play.

The Shocks have a chance to end the game in the bottom of the 5th. Caroline was hit by pitch, Sierra walked and Krystin walked to load the bases with no outs and the lineup rolling back to the top of the order. CC singled to center on a 3-1 count to score Caroline as the Shocks win 10-3 in five innings.

                      Nice job ladies.

I'm not sure you can call 3 feet in front of home a "single to center" :)

LOL. Doesn't sound like it. I was just recapping off the live stats which are often open to broad interpration.

Single to Catcher is probably the correct live stat term lol

I think it says "single to catcher" now on the stats. More impressive than "single to center" considering the bases were loaded and no one was put out.
