I am not sure any of us know enough to really provide any definitive reporting on that considering that injury reports are rarely shared publicly. Perhaps due to HPAA rules or at least that can be used as a reason.

We know Sophia was hurting for the OU exhibition, the Notre Dame match and the Texas Tech match. Kennedy mentioned on a broadcast it was due to an abdominal strain which is a problem Sophia has had in a couple of previous seasons. However, her upper thigh has been pretty heavily wrapped throughout the season beginning with the OU exhibition. However, Sophia has been playing very well in the last 3 matches and seems healthy.

Brylee came up lame in the Houston Christian match and did not play at all this weekend. She had not played all that well prior to the HCU match so not sure if she may have had an answer prior to that. Again, unofficially a abdominal strain was mentioned.

Annalie Helliste had the ring finger on her right hand heavily wrapped last weekend and it was stilled wrapped a little bit this weekend but that doesn't seem to be too serious. Annalie also wears a brace on her right knee but again I don't think that is too much of an issue, if any.

Gabi Mass apparently was injured late in the Illinois match according to the Illinois State announcers and her left thigh was heavily wrapped today and that did seem to be impacting her somewhat.

Reportedly, there were 3 unnamed players who did not practice this past Monday. To what extent that continued during the week is unknown. Presumably one of those was Brylee. Not sure who the other two would be.

At this point the most key injury situation would be that of Brylee. No coaches show this Monday and even if there was might not get much info on injuries anyway.

"Their libero is hobbling around. She has been amazing for them."

Rohling's Big Week Earns Weekly Honor Roll

Senior opposite Sophia Rohling was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday. It is the fifth career weekly honor for Rohling and the first for a Wichita State player in the 2023 season.

Rohling was spectacular for the Shockers in wins over Illinois and Illinois State, leading Wichita State in kills in both matches. Against the Fighting Illini on Friday, the 6'3 opposite paced the Shockers with 14 terminations, adding a service ace and two block assists for a team-high 16.0 total points. Rohling had multiple kills in all five sets but was at her best in the deciding final frame, delivering a trio of kills on five swings without committing an attack error. She also provided a crucial touch on a swing from Illinois outside hitter Raina Terry that set the stage for Natalie Foster's match-winning kill.

The following day against Illinois State, Rohling dominated on both sides of the ball to guide WSU to a convincing sweep of the Redbirds. The lefty finished with a match-best 10 kills on just 16 attempts with two errors, good for a .500 attack percentage. In the first set alone, Rohling piled up six kills on nine swings without committing a miscue. Defensively, she contributed a career-high seven digs and chipped in with three block assists, amassing 11.5 total points to match Foster for the most by any player in the match.

Out of town, so I have to ask ...

No show this week? Because of Labor Day?

Illinois State was reasonably competitive agiaisnst Illinois losing in 4 sets 23-25, 25-20, 18-25 and 20-25.

I think the biggest issue with Illinois State is they are a pretty young team. It will be interesting to see how they progress.

In the Shockers sweep of the Redbirds they finished of all 3 sets with strong finishing scoring runs of 8-1, 12-3 and 14-4.

May be awhile before we see that again.
