Go Shockers - Carter and Scott Join Staff at Idaho State
WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State volleyball associate head coach Sean Carter and assistant coach Chelsea Scott have accepted coaching positions at Idaho State University. Carter will be the Bengals head coach, while Scott will serve as his top assistant.
Carter was with the Shockers for eight seasons, including five as associate head coach. He helped guide the Shockers to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a National Invitational Volleyball Championship appearance, while also claiming one American Athletic Conference regular-season title, one Missouri Valley Conference regular season title, and two MVC Tournament titles. He coached four Wichita State All-Americans (Abbie Lehman, Katie Reilly, Jody Larson, Tabitha Brown) during that span and led the Shockers to a 151-86 overall record.
Scott spent four years at Wichita State, earning a promotion to full-time assistant after two seasons as the Shockers volunteer assistant coach. She helped power WSU to a 19-10 overall record in 2021, good for Wichita State's best season in The American since an undefeated run through the AAC in 2017. Scott also assisted with the operational aspects of the program, coordinating travel, lodging and team meals.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

I think Sean and Chelsea were a couple. Not all that surprised that Sean would get a head coaching opportunity somewhere and that would mean losing Chelsea as well.
I wish them well on this next chapter in their lives.

Would not be surprised to see Shocker alum Katie (Reilly) Zimmerman, who is currently on the staff as a volunteer assistant coach promoted to fill on of the spots vacated by Sean and Chelsea.
Here is Katie's bio: https://goshockers.com/sports/womens...zimmerman/1062
Personally, I think that would be a good move.

And so it comes to fruition. Probably a somewhat obvious move but one I am glad to see.
Roundhouse podcast with Wichita State volleyball’s Katie Zimmerman
Married to former Shocker baseball player Parker Zimmerman who was the catalyst for Katie returning to Wichita as he will be serving his orthopedic surgery residency in Wichita.

Go Shockers - Lamb Adds Experienced Hosfeld to Staff
Head coach Chris Lamb and the Wichita State volleyball program have announced the addition of assistant coach Brian Hosfeld and director of operations Ashleigh Houlton to the coaching staff.
Hosfeld joins Katie Zimmerman as an assistant on Lamb's staff, while Houlton replaces Shannon Lamb, who announced she is stepping away from the program due to health issues.
Hosfeld brings more than three decades of coaching experience to Wichita, highlighted by a stint as the head coach at Baylor and assistant coaching positions at Long Beach State, Texas, and Utah. The Long Beach, Calif., native has been working at the club level for the last ten years, most recently for T3 Volleyball in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
"Brian has a really impressive resume as a club guy, a camp guy, and a college guy. He's done it all," Lamb said. "He was front and center with the defensive revolution at Long Beach State, then from there to Baylor and Texas. He's been in the deep water, and knows volleyball inside and out. He's a friendly, fun person to be around, and our players and community are going to love him."
......
Houlton comes to the Shockers after coaching positions with Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball and Ironwood Ridge High School in Tucson, Arizona. She served as a National Team Coach for CCJ, and as both men's volleyball coach and women's volleyball assistant coach at Ironwood Ridge.
"Ashleigh came very highly recommended to me by several people I trust within the industry," Lamb said. "She's a detail-oriented person with a great attitude who is willing to put in the hours to make Shocker Volleyball better. Those are the kind of people we're looking to add here."
A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Houlton played collegiately at Pacific Lutheran University as a defensive specialist, then served as an assistant coach at her alma mater for four seasons. She also coached for Puyallup Juniors and Kent Juniors from 2004-2008 while coaching and playing at PLU.
Houlton brings international coaching experience to Shocker volleyball, having coached and taught physical education in the Asian Pacific Activities Conference League in South Korea from 2009 through 2015 before moving to Tucson.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Shannon Lamb will be hard to replace but Ashleigh Houlton looks like a pretty solid hire.
Welcome To Shocker Nation Brian and Ashleigh.
