  • U. S. Olympic Team

The U. S. Volleyball team is a highly ranked team at Tokyo. This week end they lost two of their best players, one of whom is Jordan Thompson who was a Cincinnati Bearcat. She’s a nice player who the team misses badly. They are hanging in there and surviving even while missing two star players. Our WSU girls played against some stiff competition. Thoughts?

I wondered why Thompson didn't have any stats in their latest match vs. Italy. Kind of surprised the US won.

Jordan rolled her ankle something fierce in the last match and the US could not cover. She was carried off the court. Karch seemed hopeful that the injury wasn't awful and that she might return.

She was great in the AAC and she's even better now. The US has to have her healthy if they expect to medal.

Annie Drews is not JT, but she is doing a fine job filling in.

Jordyn Poulter, the setter, was also out for about a match and a half but is back on the court. Micha Hancock, who you may remember from the great Penn State teams of the past, was the fill-in at setter.

The Gold Medal match against Brazil starts at 1130 pm Saturday night.
