    A major surprise.

    Finals

Doubtless, UCF will be the only team from the AAC in the NCAA Tournament.

Selection Sunday was yesterday for the 2021 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament. There are 48 teams in the Tournament with 16 National Seeds, Wisconsin having the #1 seed. Yay Gio! Each of the National Seeds receives a first-round bye. The entire tournament is held in Omaha with the opening round matches on Wednesday, April 14. From the bracket, it appears that two courts will play at the same time?!

UCF (16-1) plays HIgh Point (16-0), the AQ from the Big South, in the first round. The winner of that match plays #7 Purdue in the second round. The Big South played a conference-only schedule with no post-season conference tournament.

Sophia Rohling Named First Team All-Conference

Wichita State volleyball sophomore opposite/right side hitter Sophia Rohling was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team, it was announced Monday, April 5, by the conference office.

Have to admit I am a little surprised with that although the 1st team does have 12 players on it. Sophia had some outstanding matches and some not so outstanding matches. But the Shocks overall struggle with consistency and Lambo really never did settle on a set lineup or approach.

In any case, congrats Sophia. However, now she has something to live up to moving forward.
