BTW, not sure anyone has mentioned it yet but it has been interesting to see the Shockers waring masks on the court. Obviously, not an AAC mandate as Tulsa was not wearing masks on the court nor have any of our other opponents been masked up while on the court. Not sure how the ladies do it. That would drive me nuts. However, I do wonder if from overall health perspective if this is really a good thing. Recycling our own lung waste doesn't seems like something you don't want to do anymore than absolutely necessary and doing that while exerting one's self would seem to make even less sense. I'm concerned this is just mostly virtue signaling to an extreme.

No masks at SMU UH.
Lambo is trying to do what's right so nobody gets upset. Zero win scenario.
I know that many athletes (across the various sports) have tested positive over the last year. I know of only one that had symptoms that more than "not feeling great" and that one person described those symptoms as "mild flu like". In NO way am I suggesting I know every athlete's report or that there weren't a lot more than 1 that actually became sick, only that I know dozens with either no symptoms or symptoms so mild they didn't care, and 1 that considered themselves "sick" for a few days.
Also, these tests are NOT free. Just another hit to the budget.
A 21st century Kobayashi Maru for sure.

Match Two
Set One
Starters are Brylee, Kayce, Emma, Nicole, Sina, Sophia, and Megan. Now I will follow the comments of the Good Doctor.
Again today, Mckayla and Brooke sub in as part of the rotation.
The first three-point lead at 7-4. Kills by Megan, Nicole, and Nicole.
As soon as I can see a post by him, I will follow, etc.
A kill by Brooke and Tulsa takes a timeout. 8-4. Or a media timeout of some sort instead?
A service ace by Megan makes it six in a row before Tulsa gets on the board again.Last edited by flyingMoose; February 12, 2021, 02:12 PM.

Probably won't be able to give the details like yesterday, but I am watching best as I can.
Nicole with a big swing out of the back row. So far passing and setting better today.
Brooke delivered a bigtime facial earlier. Brylee looking good as well.
Shocks up comfortably early in set one 16-11

4 straight by Tulsa, mostly due to poor play by the Shocks. Sloppy in the back row, miscommunication once, Brooke failed to get a good swing on what should have been a kill, and TU did dig a Megan and get a point. Kayley Cassidy for TU is a problem, and she's up front right now, a big part of the 4 point TU run.
Out of the TO a 2nd BE (during this run) and it's 16-15. Brylee buries one for 17-15. TU different upfront and we weren't ready for the inevitable tip..... 17-16.
Brylee again with a kill, and an ace. 19-16

TU with a few good swings, and blocked Megan out of the back row. Shocks out of sorts a bit.
Sofia gives us the lead back and TU has a hitting error. 21-19
More poor back row play and then Shocks in the net and a hitting error and TU takes the lead. 23-22 TU Timeout WSU, it's last. Credit to Tulsa, they are getting some really good sets and quality swings, but WSU has shot themselves in the foot on way too many points.
23-22 Tulsa serving.

Lucky miss for us on a good middle set.
A second hitting error, this time way long and the Shocks lead 23-22 and timeout Tulsa. Both teams out of TO.
23-22 Shocks serving.
Nicole with a great serve, FANTASTIC dig by Tulsa and a perfect pass, great set and Tulsa pounds one at Nicole who hits her head HARD on the floor....She's down.

One hell of a point at 23 all, both teams with several quality HARD swings, big time digs, back and forth in system before Sofia launches one that TU could only deflect 10 rows into the stands.
24-23 Shocks. Another good point, Megan comes flying out of the back row for a huge swing and Tulsa is in the net and the Shocks take game 1 25-23.
Some high quality volleyball there at the end. Tulsa coach has a lot of credentials.

Set Two
Morgan is a starter in the second set as is Nicole. Megan is out? But Natalie Foster is a starter? The Good Doctor will have to help us out I think.
1-8 and Mariah is in. TO Shocks.Last edited by flyingMoose; February 12, 2021, 02:43 PM.

My wife and I had Covid at the end of January. I am a 70 and she is 69. I have no idea who or where the source would be. I had flu like symptoms for a handful of days although I have had much worse in the past. My wife's symptoms were very mild, I called my family doctor but neither my wife or I actually saw a doctor. We had been loading up on vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C for sometime prior to testing positive so maybe that helped. And we did the 10 day quarantine thing. Impossible to predict how it will effect each person but I would anticipate very few problems for healthy college athletes. Fortunately, I am in a situation where I do not need to wear a mask very much.

Bad start to set 2.
Natalie Foster with a big kill, but otherwise all TU.
3-1
Block error after a scintillating dig on a Sofia bomb by TU. Cook another kill. Another BE. Block by TU. Ace on a ball 3 feet in. Shocks totally discombobulated and TU very full of themselves.
Kayley and Callie, their only 2 real weapons, killing the Shocks right now.
8-1 before Lambo takes the 1st TO. Glad we got that 1st set or this would really be a problem now.
Nicole seems to be ok and ends the run 8-2.
Again, poor coverage on tips from most people not named Callie or Kayley for TU.
9-2
Service errors both ways 10-3
Emma hits a decent set into the net, then Brylee is STUFFED.
Another block before Brylee finally puts one down
14-4 TU and this set appears to be gone.
