According to the Box Score attendance was 6,225 for the Hawaii match.
A very nice crowd but well below the 8,000 estimateed by Mike Kennedy.
Not sure where the Eagle got there information:
Zwiesler recorded all of her kills and all eight digs in the first set.
I think the Shocks played a little better than the Eagle article implies, although in the Eagle's defense the match was in the middle of the night and the article was thrown together at 5:00 am this morning.
The turning point in the match was in Set 2 with the Shockers up 1 set and leading 18-15. Hawaii went on a 5 point run started with Shocker service error then followed by an Hawaii ace, ace, kill, ace. Lambo pointed this out in his post game comments and stated the service aces were on balls that could have and perhaps should have been put in play by the Shocks.
The Shocks did out-block Hawaii 9-6 and I think Lambo was pleased with the effort his team put forth.
He confirmed that San Francisco will be very tough. He said they have 4 players that are MVC All-Conference quality. They are not real physical but they are very good at making adjustments. We could really use a win tonight but it will require the Shocks playing well to make that happen.
