What a piece of crap "report" on WSU Volleyball by the Eagle. Note this was not by Taylor Eldridge but from the "Eagle Staff".

First of all the Shocker Volleyball team has not won its first AAC Championship as the headline states. The Shockers have clinched a tie for a SHARE of the title. That is a Co-Championship not a Championship.

Secondly the body of the report says the Shockers complete their first schedule on Sunday at SMU. Wrong again. The Shocks have matches remaining at Memphis on Wednesday and Senior Day at Koch Arena against Memphis on Friday.

Perhaps if Taylor is not available to do the reporting the Eagle (and the Shockers) would be better off if the Eagle just ignored us.

Not only free tickets at SMU but free video

Senior Day at SMU and they are also giving flowers to the Shocker seniors. Very, very nice.

Katie Hegarty, mentioned above by @1972Shcoker, is out for SMU with a shoulder injury suffered yesterday at practice.

Katie Hegarty dislocated her shoulder in practice yesterday and will not play today. Very disappointing for the SMU senior. She also missed the Shocker match in Wichita due to an earlier injury.

Very nice gesture by SMU to present flowers to the Shocker seniors as part of their Senior Day celebration.

          Set One

The Shockers build the first three-point lead at 9-6, and the Mustangs take a timeout at 12-7.

The Ponies bring it back to 12-9, but when the Shockers stretch the lead to 19-11, SMU takes their second timeout.

          Too much firepower.

          Shockers 25-15 SMU

          .314 v .143

Mikaela with six kills and Tabitha with four led the way.

Might even say an incredible gesture. Well done SMU.

              Set Two

The Shockers get off to an early 5-1 lead (kills, blocks, service error), and SMU takes a timeout.

At 12-3, the Mustangs take their second timeout. Four blocks in this set for the Shocks.

              Pretty quiet gym.

              Shockers 25-11 SMU

Four service errors by the Shockers. Nice four-point run with Mikaela serving.

              .550 v -.172 for the set, .400 v .000 for the match.

Six Shocker blocks in the set, eight for the match.

Mikaela is at 11-1-17 for .588, and Emily set the Shocker all-time assist record during the set.

Abbie Lehman now the career total blocks leader at Wichita State. Emily Heibert needs 10 more assists to pass Mary Elizabeth Hooper as the career assist leader.

Not many assists in the 2nd set for Emily but between a Shocker block party and SMU errors the Shocks lead 12-3.

Mikaela havig one of the better matches of her Shocker career so far and Alex Koon playing much better today than she did at Tulsa.

Making a statement. Shox are doing as much as they can in this conference. If the committee doesn't recognize that, then well, they suck. Wouldn't be the first time.

Emily has tied Mary Elizabeth at 4,280.

And Emily passes Mary Elizabeth on set point with an assist to Tabitha.

Our ladies look really fresh. SMU looks a step slow. Great 2 sets. Let's sweep

The career ending injury to 6-2 OH Katie Hegarty, a 5th year senior and returning 1st team AAC All-Conference selection, at practice yesterday had to take a lot of the starch out of SMU's shorts and at this point their confidence has to be in the dumpster.

SMU has 20 attack errors to 6 for the Shocks and the Shocks are out-blocking the Ponies 10-2.

7-0 in the 3rd. If Volleyball had a mercy rule the Shocks would be closing in on it.

                                Set Three

Shockers start 7-0 with a sideout and six points while Mikaela is serving. Timeout SMU.

A 12-1 Shocker lead is whittled down to 14-7, and the Shocker take a timeout.

Mostly sideouts to close out the match.

                                Shockers 25-17 SMU

                                Only .211 v .054 for the set, .323 v .020 for the match.

                                Eleven blocks v four.

                                Mikaela 14-3-26 for .423
                                Abbie 9-1-13 for .615
                                Tabitha 8-2-22 for .273
Alex 6-2-18 for .222 An improvement over the last two matches.
Emma 1-2-9 for -.111 We will need her if we expect to do much in the post-season.
