Wow! At 12-10, the officials cannot agree if there was a touch on a ball hit "out" by Abbie, so they replay the point.

Three kills by Abbie close out the match.

          Post-match

Serve and receive not quite there, and Emily did not have a good night setting.

          Tabitha was outstanding.

This match had an odd feel to it but I expect the Shocks will be challenged at times on this 2nd time through the conference especially with 7 of 10 on the road. Certain teams just seem to give you more problems than others. UCF is one of those AAC teams with some pretty outstanding athletes that are capable of making you look bad. But style points don't really matter in the end and the Shocks had enough when they needed it to pull out the win. It's always good to win, especially on the road, when maybe you don't have your best stuff.

Mark another one down on the left side of the ledger and move on to the next one.

              Elsewhere,

Missouri State handled Evansville easily, but

              ILLINOIS STATE 3-2 Northern Iowa
              (22) 21 18 (21) 12

The Panthers led 5-0 in the fifth but lost the set and match.

Welcome to WSU's world UNI. A team clearly deserving of an at large, now probably has no more room for error than losses to MSU in the regular season and the finals of the MVC tourney. IF they even have that margin.

WuDrWu, clear your private messages. I tried to give you a "like", but this platform couldn't send you a message notifying you of that like, so it kicked it out.

Kung Wu, what can we do to set our messages so that the only messages we get are PMs, not likes, thanks, or quotes? Thanks.

I apologize. I've been out of it mostly for the last 3-4 weeks while I fight an illness that just won't quit. Frustrating. That being said, I haven't played around too much with the new site, and I don't quite know what to do with the messages and notifications. I like saving some of the old ones to refer back to things, but I had like 90 I was hanging onto on the old site, and if I understand what I'm looking at, I have 520 "notifications" and have to pair down to under 200. TBH, I haven't figured out where to even start. Perhaps Kung Wu could give me a cheat sheet for an old, worn out, hate changing, not very tech savvy, stubborn fool?

Yes, WuDrWu when I back in town I will help ya.

ShockTalk, it doesnt look good. If I cannot find a way I will disable the plugin and we can try the built in Like button.

Messages for post likes, thanks, quotes, and other things can be turned off by the user in their profile's notifications settings. Asking folks to turn these off might solve quite a few of the problems we are having with full mailboxes.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Unless I did it wrong or missed something (both very possible), in the notifications setting you have a choice of receiving emails and through the message center or turn off the emails and have message center only. The second is what I have. I've also unchecked everything in that section. Did this several days ago and still the likes, quoted and so forth add up in my message center where under the old platform I received only PMs. The old system also notified you of likes and quotes and click to see where, but didn't actually place this info in the message center.

Shocks take the third set 25-18 and the match. The score went from 24-12 to 24-17 before Lambo took a timeout. But other than that ...

                              Shockers hit .420 v .021 and had 13 blocks v 3.

                              Abbie 11-1-16 for .625
                              Mikaela 10-2-16 for .500
Alex and Emily 6-0-13 for .462

Abby Pugh was the other middle this match for two sets and was 2-1-5 for .200. Brooke had one attempt in her one set. Tabitha also hit .200 on 20 swings.
