It's Stanford and Penn State in the finals.

Stanford needed 5 games to defeat USC, 23-30, 30-20, 30-25, 20-30 and 16-14. Both teams winning 119 points.

Top ranked Penn State swept past Cal 30-28, 30-25 and 30-16.

Final tomorrow nigth at 8:00 pm CST. Might want to check it out on ESPN2 during breaks in the WSU-UMKC game or perhaps after the UMKC game.

Penn State wins 2007 National Championship with 5 game win over #1 seeded Stanford.

Scores were 30-25, 30-26, 23-30, 19-30 and 15-8

Looked like Stanford had grabbed the momentum with dominating wins in Games 3 and 4, but Penn State put it away in Game 5.

Congrats to the Nittany Lions.

Between Nebraska and Penn State, the Mid-west has proven that it doesn't have to take a back seat to the West Coast when it comes to championship level volleyball. Hopefully the Shocks can keep improving and find a way to get to the Sweet Sixteen in an area of the country that will continue to have very tough regional sites.
