I'm not sure Circle has anybody else who'd be on the radar. Nice players and a very good team, but I'm not sure anyone outside of Jordan could possibly play D1 ball. I heard Collegiate had a big man that battled with Jordan all night, but I know nothing about him. I did hear it was a hell of a game that Circle won by 6 in OT. They weren't recruiting for Jody were they? :D
Sometimes it just nice to "have a presence" in the local area...
I think area kids appreciate the WSU coaches making the effort even though things may never pan out. Can't hurt in the goodwill department. May help sway a kid they really want.

It also is helpful in building a relationship with local coaches. It lets them know that you are willing to give their kids a look, even if they aren't the highly coveted recruits, which makes you less of a Johnny-come-lately if you show up to watch them once they do have a top-notch DI prospect that everyone wants.

My highly educated guess is that they were looking at 6-5 junior Trace Clark from Collegiate. He is an athlete extraordinaire and also posts a 4.0 in the classroom.

Well theres no way he would want to go to WSU because everyone knows that to get a really good edumacation you have to go to ksu ku or creighton or drake. ;-)
