Smallwood is playing juco ball at Murry State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and is in the class of 2013. Rivals' database show interest from WSU, Creighton, Arkansas Centenary, TCU, Missouri, ORU, Oklahoma and Tennessee-Martin.

9/21/12 update- Central Arkansas, Albany and University of Louisiana - Monroe have interest for Smallwood at the start of his sophomore year at Murry State College.
