It's not supposed to be. KSHSAA stresses to take caution and that a player isn't to return unless a trained professional (trainer) clears the player.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Now that I have seen this young man play a few times, it is obvious to me he will be a D-1 prospect for sure. He has NBA shooting range from the 3, handles the ball with both hands quite well, loves to penetrate, can pass the rock to the open man, and makes the throws all day long. He gets up and down the court and makes big shots. They list him at 6'1" which is about right. I hope he grows 3-4 more inches taller. Obviously WSU, KU, and many others will be watching Conner very closely. He just keeps improving.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

My first look at Conner last night at Carroll. He scored 36 (26 in the first half). Granted, Carroll's guards have to go through the height test at Disney World, so Conner had his way for most of the night.
In the second half Carroll's Brian Rohleder, 6-3, got the defensive assignment and held Conner to 10 points. Even then, he still got many of the same looks he had in the first half, just didn't knock the shots down.
Coach Gary Squires had Conner play three different positions, which he excelled at all. While playing PG, he could dribble-penetrate any time he wanted and many times scored from mid-range (for 6-1 he has reasonable explosion off the floor and releases the shot at the very extension of the jump). As the SG, he seems to possess a quick catch and shoot, with a range well beyond 22-feet. Carroll played some zone, where Conner, off ball, flashed to the free-throw circle and made for the most part very good and quick decisions with the ball to shoot, pass or make a dribble move.
I think a poster earlier in this thread talked about his passive defense due to the fact he is on the floor almost 100% of the time (he took a nasty spill last night, got the wind knocked out of him...only out for maybe a minute of game time). But when he decides to "D" it up he showed good reaction and quickness to cut off the dribblers angle and I think recorded 3 steals.
How can you not be impressed with this young man and the numbers he is producing...as a SOPHOMORE. I am biased because I had a great view from the bench watching, IMO, the greatest HS basketball player ever in the state of Kansas, Ricky Ross. Conner is the real deal.
With added strength and maybe even about 2-4 inches, Conner will be equally sought after as Perry Ellis...and some might say he already is. I look forward to seeing him play again...and hopefully a 4-year stint at the "Chuck."
