I just heard from someone who has reason to be 100% sure that Gabe is our man. (his words) Looking forward to good news in 24 1/2 hours
If it doesn't happen, this will be one of my all-time disappointments! I'm not planning on being disappointed though!!!

I just pee'd my pants. Thanks, Sub. Thanks a lot.

Sorry RS, but it's worth the clean up I think.

        • Just imagine when incoming recruits visit next year and see Stutz, EO, and Gabe all practicing together. Think that'll look like a major program?

This means you, Perry Ellis. This could parlay into something so, so big.

If Tyler really is leaving and we plan on giving a scholarship to Baker, it would seem odd to wait a year to give him the scholarship if we have one open unless we already know that someone is going to be taking that scholarship.

Nothing is ever certain, but it sure does look like the signs are pointing decidedly in one direction.

I should have added the Baker one year walk-on to my equation... Another thing that just makes this make sense.

It could just be one of those things where he's an in-state kid and his family can afford the tuition or he's in line for some academic scholarships. Redshirting puts him into the following year's freshman class and that's one less kid we need to recruit next year when we lose five seniors.

But I like your take better!

                • I'm not quite ready to join the 95% Club (those 95%+ that Gabe is headed down Woodlawn to Hillside) just yet.

That would give Perry Ellis an entire college career playing with post players that are defensive specialists who block shots and grab rebounds. That's a pretty good pairing for a PF who probably wants to (and certainly can) put some big numbers up on the scoreboard.

Throw in another WSU player that was a HS teammate and WSU has a lot to offer for Perry. WSU starts looking like a pretty good fit. It certainly doesn't hurt that a couple of mid-major players have become household names in the last couple of years. I think a lot more people recognize Howard from Butler than whoever the last KU guy was who went one and done - I can't recall his name right now.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

                  • Very good point on Perry. The really great thing about his potential interest in WSU is that his signing would not be an auto-lock as starting forward. HCGM is putting together a very talented group of forwards (wings and posts). The big plus for Ellis is that he could come here and know that he won't have to play center as so many PFs do at non-BCS programs.

                      • uhh..

Sunrise Christian Academy coach Kyle Linstead is hearing lots of talk about forward Gabe Olaseni choosing Wichita State. He is ready to put those rumors to rest.

Olaseni (6-foot-9) and teammate Eric Katenda (6-8) have a news conference scheduled tomorrow at 2:45 p.m. WSU is not on Olaseni’s list of possible destinations, Linstead said.

                        • Cedar Rapids Gazette sportswriter tweets that Olaseni will commit to Iowa tomorrow.

"It's possible he just wanted to take his time before making a decision. He's not going to WSU."

                            • LMAO, How dare you guys insult him by associating him with WSU. WSU is only for pick up games. Where as Iowa is for getting your azz handed to you on a nightly basis by not only conf competition but non conf.
