With Evan, Tekele, and Jake on board, what happens with the last schollie?

I'm guessing Evan to become more of a SF first and SG second, probably not a PG.

Tekele appears to be a hard-nosed slashing combo guard who could develop to become a DI PG.

I don't believe Jake will see time at the SF, but be a PF and, just maybe, a backup C. Beginning his HS senior year, he's already 6'8", 218, almost as big as JT and can play facing up to the basket or with his back to it.

If you agree with this, or don't, where's the biggest need for 2011? More experience at PF by getting a Juco and we may not know who until the Spring? Some have suggested Garrett might play some PF by his senior year depending on EO's progression.

A freshman center? Kravish, or prehaps Hooper Vint if he's still available?

Time to start grooming the next true PG? Maybe Tekele will have this honor. As others, I, too, like Ja'Ln Williams for several reasons - local, another hard-nosed kid, quick hands and more of a true PG.

Unless it's just the right, can't-pass-him-up one, maybe Nickerson or Rivers, I'm thinking not a SG or SF.

My #1 choice that I think we MAY have a chance at landing would be Nickerson.

If that doesn't pan out than I say get the best PF we can (even if from the JUCO level)

If Ben Smith starts at the 3 next year, it would depend on who relieves him, Richardson or White? If Richardson, then Jake may be the reliever at PF behind Hamilton. Richardson is not tall enough to be a 4, and he is really a little short to be a d-1 SF.

Actually, I see Evan or Cotton redshirting (since we will already have 4 guards) before Jake White.

I would think it would almost certainly be a juco 4, unless Ellis redshirts.

We have four bigs for next year including the signing of White (two posts and two PFs). We have two PG's, maybe three with Cotton. Since he can't shoot yet, we'll call Cotton a PG. That gives us 6 wings.

That said, we sign the best damn player out there and hope he can either dribble and pass the ball a little or post up inside.

When was the last time we had the luxury of trying to figure out where the last scholarship should go at this time of the year? In years past it seemed there was a rush to just get bodies to fill out the team rather than specific types of players to fill a need. All of these guys coming in could redshirt a year and the program would not take a step back due to not having the talent to pick up any slack. I'm comfy with where the program is and would like to see maybe the best PF available fill the last slot.

The word on local star J. Williams here in town is very positive. Thus, I plan on getting out and watching some City Games this Season. Also, it is exciting to see the Shockers are getting closer and closer as our Program rises, in getting consideration and even visits from top 150 type players. We also have been getting some solid interjection from the Juco route. We can be very selective on the last player we sign.

We have the gut feeling that our beloved Shocks will have a banner Season this Season. I am reminded that we lose some very key Seniors next Season. However, as I watch things unfold, I think the "Shocker beat" will palpitate on and continue to build a solid foundation.

As others have mentioned, White is not a SF. He is a Kyle Wilson type PF.

If Richardson is too short to be a D1 SF, then so is Graham Hatch. Hatch is 6-4 206lbs. Richardson is 6-4 207lbs.

It is wonderful to see Shockers play and succeed at the next level. I would love to find another player that brings similar skills to our Shocker arsenal as Kyle Wilson. I am hoping that Jake White is such a player.

As I said in Jake's thread, I see his game as a cross between Wilson and Adam Koch.

As for the last scholarship, it depends on how ready the coaches think Hamilton and White are to contribute and how well EO develops. If there are questions there, we probably go JUCO post. Otherwise, I'd say just take the best available talent out there.[/img]

I think Jake will be strictly a 4. Evan a 2/3 and Tekele a 1/2.

Assuming Ellis doesn't redshirt, that leaves the 4 position with the least experience. I always thought we would go after a juco PF and indeed they have been on the staff's radar. I still this this is the best chance of how we will use the last scholarship.

However we are in a position that we could go with best freshman player available. There are still some very good ones out there that would not get a turn down: Nickerson, Miles, Rivers.

There are others whose recruitments are going slower who also would probably be taken, like Blackwell and Mobley. And then there is Julian Lewis who we don't know much about but who might have a visit scheduled. Just because we don't know much about a recruit doesn't mean much. Case in point is Tekele who they were on hard all summer.

And of course you never know, almost every school these days has somebody leave. Certainly a possibility of much more recruiting action for next year.

I am surprised the weight delta is only 1 pound. Tyler seems much thicker in his body than Graham is.
