  • David Kravish to Cal

I thought David already had a thread but couldn't find it, only a mention in the 2011 summary. The 6-9 PF/C blew up at the NY2LASPORTS.COM Summer Jam and is getting lots of attention at the Desert Dual. Current offers are from Creighton, Tulsa, Lafayette, Colorado, Loyola-Chicago and Cental Michigan. Interest continues from the Shockers with UMass, Penn State, Cal and probably several others involved.

He plays high school ball at Lee's Summit North. Looking like a good replacement for Garrett after next year IMO.

Visit schedule for Kravish's top five:

        Creighton - August 28th

        Iowa - Sept 4th

Colorado - First week in October or on September 25th

        Cal - September 25th

SHOCKERS - Already has visited and has a good feel but will probably set up an official. Shockers have been on him the longest.

He wants to make his decision ASAP as he knows there are other offers out there.

This would be a nice addition and definitely fill a need for a young post player. And it's never a bad thing to land a few KC area kids. Lets get this kid back in Wichita for another visit and get his signature in November!

In the article he says everybody recruiting him sees him as a 4. He describes himself as a pick and pop 4 who doesn't have to play with his back to the basket. His weight is a little under 200lbs.

Perhaps his game is similar to Jake White.

Eric Bossi posted this article from Rivals. I don't have a membership. Can anyone view it and tell us if it says anything new?

Maybe it's the link I used? Try the link from Eric's tweet.

That worked. Sounds like he's a smart kid and says the major/mid major aspect won't sway him which you don't hear much. He'll sign early so he doesn't miss out. No favorites. Same schools as mentioned above.

The Rival's article by Bossi does not mention a visit to Colorado.

                            I think it does - October 2.

After fielding interest from schools all over the country, Kravish has settled in on a list that includes Creighton (unofficial visit this weekend), Iowa (official 9/2), California (offical 9/24), Colorado (10/2) and Wichita State (visit to be set).
I also like this part of the article:

Given that his list includes both high level mid major and high major programs, Kravish is more concerned about finding the right fit.

"It doesn't really matter and I never really think about it or compare it that way," said Kravish of considering mid and high major programs. "It's more about the opportunity that's there. Education is a big part of it so if a school has a good pre-med program that's a big plus.
Sounds like a kid with a great head on his shoulders.
