Probably our highest rated recruit other than Perry Ellis is Cleare. He remains wide open as all the schools are on the same level according to him. He named 13 schools that are most interested. They include KU, North Carolina, Texas A&M, Maryland, Texas, Baylor and WSU.

Scout also doesn't list us as having a scholarship offer for Cleare, for whatever that is worth.

I saw this kid play in a high school AAU game on TV recently. He dominates the paint and would be a huge get for us if we're really in the picture. Needs some conditioning, but looked really good.

I can't find anything substantial that points to WSU ever being in this race. And everything I've read said he's been leaning to go Terp the majority of the time. Don't really understand your comment that Turgeon sold WSU as a disadvantage.

I'd be willing to bet WSU wasn't even talked about when Turgeon sat down with the kid.

Substantial? Is anything in the recruiting business really substantial? Bunch of guys paid to fly around the country drinking, having fun, and making judgments on young mens future based on one game or no games that they have seen.

I cant provide you with anything "substantial" that we were in the mix. But i can tell you we were based on reliable sources, and whether you take that as fairly solid or grain of salt makes no difference to me.

And id be willing to take that bet based on numerous reports that Mark spends more time talking down about other schools than talking up his own. Now, none of those have really come up since his trip to Maryland, but willing to bet his selling approach hasnt changed.
