I find it a little funny that all the talk was about Cousins, Carter, or other Ppint Guards, but Joe. And he looks to be the best one of them all.
The one article between his freshman and sophmore years was saying he needed to work on defense in the offseason, so I am assuming that will still apply this year as well. Those lefties can be deadly shooters.
The coaching staff deserves props for landing Joe. He sounds like he will fit in real good in Shockernation.

I'm glad that we got JR's commitment BEFORE Carter made his final decision. I saw what I viewed as some big potential problems for Carter going to OU and a different one with the Zags. Marshall may have known 100% that Carter wasn't coming here, but that also might not have been the case. So, I'm going to take this that HCGM got his 1st choice and I can't say I disagree with that at all!!
Welcome Joe!!

Put some more muscle on his frame and he will be an even tougher one to knock off of his dribble. He is pretty solidly built right now. If he gains as much additional size as Clevin did by his senior year, JR will be a load.

Article from Utah. I think they are pretty disappointed.
"Utah has struck out on one of its point guard prospects for next year.
Joe Ragland, an NJCAA all-American from North Platte (Neb.) CC, has committed to play at Wichita State next year according to the Wichita Eagle.
Ragland is one of at least two point guards the Utes were targeting for next year's team. Coach Jim Boylen was in Nebraska recruiting Ragland as late as Monday. Ragland said he was considering Utah along with Creighton, George Mason, Montana and Montana State, but decided on Wichita State before making visits to those other schools."
