He has been on the Recruits without Public Acknowlegement section of the 2011 recruiting summary for sometime. He is a 6-5 SG at Little Rock, AR (Hall H.S). He is generally thought to be around the 4th to 6th best player in Arkansas' 2011 class.

Am I having a bit of a moment, or have we heard of this kid before (and I am not refering to the kid that played at Notre Dame).

Perhaps you read about him in the summary. I've been following him for months. We knew about WSU's interest but there hasn't been a story about it until now.

Because he doesn’t have the scholarship offers yet that some of his fellow in-state 2011 prospects do, Little Rock Hall small forward David Rivers is sometimes overlooked in the discussion of best prep basketball player in Arkansas.

But you can find some observers who believe that Rivers (6-6, 180) is arguably the best of bunch.

Even among a class that includes Jonesboro Westside’s Hunter Mickelson (6-10, 190), East Poinsett County’s Ky Madden (6-5, 180) and UA commit Aaron Ross (6-8, 225) of Little Rock Parkview.

“Whoever is supposed to be better, I really haven’t seen it yet,”

UAB, Nebraka and Baylor have offered Rivers who visited WSU a while back. Iowa State, Clemson and Virginia Tech have taken recent looks.

Keep in mind that David has visited WSU.

There is probably fairly serious mutual interest between Rivers and WSU since he visited the Shockers. The visit hasn't been mentioned in this thread, only here:

Since he's a high school junior, I believe any visit he's taken has been unofficial. If we can get him here on an official next year, that would be a very good sign of his interest in us.

Update on offers to Rivers: UTEP, South Florida, Nebraska, Baylor, Colorado, Providence, Clemson, WSU. No mention of UAB who reportedly offered sometime ago.

"Lanky wing David Rivers of the Arkansas Wings said that he's got a top four of Clemson, Wichita State, UTEP and Ole Miss and that Clemson is his current leader. During the game we watched we spotted two Wichita State assistants, Ole Miss boss Andy Kennedy and UTEP's Tim Floyd. Nebraska's Doc Rivers was also on hand to watch."

But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

No mention of Clemson watching is interesting. Perhaps the love shown by the Shockers will make a difference. David would be a pretty good get for a SF.

Huh, I never knew that Doc Rivers had any Nebraska ties. You know you are irrelevant when people don't even know who you are. :yahoo:

                              That is classic.
