  • Avery Dingman to Creighton

I put Dingman on the "Recruits without public acknowledgement" section of the 2011 Summary sometime ago. I placed him there because there hasn't been a normal publication about WSU's recruitment. He's at a smaller school, Branson, MO. but his play this year deserves a thread and I'm positive we are recruiting him and have been for sometime.

The following is from the summary. It will fill you in about him:

Avery Dingman 6-4 SF Branson, MO.
I thought I had Avery on this list sometime ago but didn't find him on a search. KCPREPSHOOPS on twitter indicates he has interest from Iowa, Missouri and several unnamed MVC schools. Wichita State is one of them. Missouri State and Drake are others. I believe he mostly played on Branson's JV last year. He is a slasher.

    I guess I better add he is a slasher/dunker.
And I also better add he can shoot the 3. The kid is lighting it up at Branson:

Dingman goes for 46 last night. The 6'6 WF was on fire from downtown also...connecting on 10 3 pointers. He was 16 of 21 overall, including 10 of 11 from 3, and had a dunk in transition.

Good heavens -- 10-11 from three? That's not exactly a snap in an empty gym.

May be a nice replacement for Mr. Hatch, although Bryce Mayes put up similar numbers.

I get the feeling this kid is much better than Bryce.

This kid plays for Branson (Missouri) though which I assume is a pretty good sized school. Much different than Oxford high :D

Branson HS is comparable in size to the schools in the middle of the AVL-CTL. They have put out several D-1 players in basketball and football. Avery is being mentioned alot on the local radio sports shows. I know that MSU has their eyes on him.

Sounds MUCH better than Oxford and SCBL competition.

We had eyes on Mike Wiebe from Branson in the past. He ended up at College of the Orzaks. He never got the attention Dingman is receiving. It appears Avery has good chance of playing D-1 somewhere.

That FT% doesn't make any sense.
