  • Nevin Johnson to Creighton

Our second known offer for a 2011 recruit goes to Nevin Johnson, a 6-6 SF at Lutheran North in Houston, Texas. We offered after watching his open gym. He also got an offer from UTEP.

He is way down on the TexasHoops ranking but had a good AAU summer since it's release. I believe he has previously played for Spring, TX. which is in the Houston area.

I like the size. Will be interesting to see how he plays this year.

26 points in defeat to Aaron Durley and St. Thomas. The game before that he only played five minutes due to two techs. One for dunking in warm up and the other for slamming his hands to the court.

He'd like playing defense for Altman.

Johnson's high school season is over. He's transferred back to his public school in Spring, Texas and can't play until next year. He left Lutheran North for economic reasons.

That doesn't surprise me that he had to leave, but I have a feeling he will land on his feet.

Johnson will be able to play for Spring during this year's State playoffs.

Rice, Stanford and Penn are also recruiting.

Perhaps one of the best who appears to have the Shockers high on their list. Auburn is in the lead but they haven't yet offered. WSU (offer), Butler and Arkansas (no offers) are right there also.

Creighton recently offered and he will have to find out more about them.

I'm thinking he and Wessel could be a nice tandem to have working side by side.

Johnson's current top four: Creighton and WSU (both have offered), Auburn and Arkansas (no offers). Texas-Arlington and Long Island have now offered.
