Jake White a Shocker!

I may have made a comparison between Jake Kock and Jake White, but it was as to what type of contribution I expected from White as a freshman. Solid defense and rebounding with a little bit of scoring in limited minutes. Contributor, but not someone that will be all freshman team.

As his career progresses I would expect Kyle Wilson like contribution and style of play, which isn't all that much different than Adam Koch.

Jake White made first team all state and was finalist for Mr. Basketball. Ended with 21.3 average, 11.4 rebounds 51% field goal and 73 percent free throws

Jake is on Parade's magazine all-American boys basketball 4th team. It will be published this Sunday. I don't know how many are on a team.

Uh, that's HUGE! Not sure about 2011, but in 2010 there were 40 players named, 10 per team. If this is an indication about White as a player, he may not have a big upside, but that would put him AT MINIMUM as one of the top 100 recruits in the nation IMO.

Here's a rundown of last year's 4th team:

Allen Crabbe - started all 31 games for the Cal Bears. Averaged 34 minutes and 13 points, 5 boards.

Ian Miller - Played in 23 games for the FSU Seminoles, a sweet 16 team. 14 minutes and 5 points. He'll be a star for FSU.

Adreian Payne - Played a limited role in all 34 games for the Michigan State Spartans. He'll be solid, to say the least.

James MacAdoo - will attend UNC in the fall. Is outstanding. My guess is he's a first team PAA this season.

Marquis Teague - will be attending Kentucky this fall. Thoughts?

Marcus Thornton - First thought he was averaging 13 points for the Kings in the NBA. Different guy. Played in 32 games and averaged 10 minutes for the Georgia Bulldogs.

James Bell - played in 25 games averaged 10 minutes for Villanova.

Tyler Lamb - played in 34 games averaged 12 minutes for UCLA

Corey Hawkins - played in 24 games, starting 1 for Arizona State.

Noah Cottrill - Left West Virginia without playing a game after being suspended by Bob Huggins for conduct unbecoming of a Mountaineer.

Wow, coming from Huggy Bear, that is saying something.....I didn't hear of any triple murder cases in Morgantown.......


Outside of the last kid (I don't think we need to be concerned with any comparison there) I think we would be pretty happy with talent similar to last year's from Jake.

When I first saw "from the Kentucky Democrat" I thought why from there. Then I saw who signed where and now I understand why that paper would be interested in publishing the list before sunday.

After listening to 3G discuss Jake on his show tonight I wonder if we are getting a player somewhat similar to Doug McDermott at Creighton?

Looking forward to seeing the young man in action.
