  • Brandon Peters To Western Kentucky

WSU has an offer out to Brandon "Snap" Peters, a 6-0 SG from Houston, Texas (Yates H.S.) He plays AAU with Houston Hoops and also has offers from Memphis, Baylor, Missouri and Oregon State. Texas A&M is interested. He has super athleticism and displays it by driving and dunking. At the Sabes, he showed he can also play a little from the perimeter.

He averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals in the Class 4A state tournament.

Brandon says he is hearing the most from Texas A&M and Baylor. Also interested are USC, Houston, and Arizona.

I am not saying your wrong but the Houston Chronicle lists him as a forward and was all metro lst team and was also All State Class lst team in Texas. He averaged 18.,5, rbs 9.2, stls 6,2, ast 4-1 and blks 3-6. Dont sound like someone 6-0

Haven't seen the Chroncile article but I have not seen him listed as anything but a SG or combo guard. His height listing varies from 6-0 to 6-1. Here is ESPN's write up about him:

Rivals has him as a 6'1" PG.

Sounds like he played well at Sabes.

I wonder if this kid was in town recently. I was flying back to Houston from Wichita on Sunday and there was a kid in front of me that looked like either a basketball player or a prospect. Was little taller than 6'. I did not recognize him as one of our current players.

Here's a web page with a video of some of his dunks. He can definitely get up.

A guard that can finish in traffic, off of 2-feet?

If he has a jump shot to go with that athleticism, I like very much.

I believe the Shockers have remained in the hunt for Peters, at least until very recently. North Texas is going after him hard. Their entire staff attended his open gym. Peters is visiting them today.

Also at his open gym were Texas Southern and TCU.

Besides the North Texas visit, TCU and SMU will probably be getting visits by Peters. Western Kentucky offered earlier but has not contacted Peters in a few weeks.

IMO, WSU and Peters probably have also gone in different directions.

Averaged 18.5 ppg, 9.2 rebounds, and 6.2 steals last year for Yates, who as a team averaged 96.5 ppg last year and scored over 100 13 times. They held opponents to 50.9 ppg.

Yates returns all 5 starters and 11 of 15 players overall from last years State Champ team.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Yates is going to be pretty good this year.
