6'2" 175 SG. Jacksonville (TX) Lon Morris JC. Class of '09 (Would be a SO)

He'd committed to Kentucky but has pulled out after Gillespie was fired.

He specifically mentioned Oklahoma State, California, Wichita State, Marquette and Cincinnati as schools showing interest. His FR stats at Lon Morris weren't too bad - 46% from the field, 42 from three, 83 from the line while averaging 16.2ppg to go with 3 assists and 3 rebounds.

It would put him in with Kyles and Murry as far as classes go

The official Lon Morris roster lists Konner at 6'4" (but it sounds like 6'2" is probably more accurate).

He was his team's leading scorer (as a frosh). They ranked 25th in the NJCAA in team scoring at 86 ppg. They only lost 5 games this year with 3 of them against NJCAA tournament teams (Midland once and Navarro twice).

            Gregg Marshall:

"We are not going to be short at the point ever again...".

The quote may not exactly match the words...but the point is made. And in case you didn't know it, we were short this year.

So I'm clear, by short, I am refering to lack of bodies, not actual size.

I like bigger PGs as well Doc :D

If we get this kid we should be OK next year at the point. Hannah, Mannigault, Tucker and Murry all capable. Sounds good to me

Tucker said that Gillespie also had plans to play him some an the wing.

                Interesting.

Do any of his "interested" schools still have an open scholorship for 2009?

Wing works fine at 6'4"; not so good at 6'2". Wonder how big this kid really is?

Wow -- he was 6-4 when he pledged to Kentucky but only 6-2 after decommitting.

It appears as though Marquette does.

An OSU board says they are currently over-committed.

Don't know about the others just yet.

Marquette has a verbal from #5 PG Junior Cadougan out of Houston.
