Yes. It can be any year, actually, as long as it fits within the "5 years to play 4" model.

So if the player is okay with it, then someone like Kyles (who might benefit from a redshirt year) could do so? Garret could probably benfit from one as well, but who do we have to fill in?

        In theory yes.

Neither one of those guys will redshirt though. I think Kyles is on to something and will be a factor by the time we hit the Lou.

Garrett will have his ups and down but once the season ends and he can get in the weight room more I think he'll be much better next year.

Garrett needs to grow into those big feet of his (he still lumbers down the court) and he needs to grow an AT-A-TUDE. He needs to watch Ramon more and how he gets in there and "hips" those guys out of the way.

I'm still thinking that Orukpe will get a schollie for 2010-11. That leaves only one additional player through that recruiting year. There can be no more than 8 returning scholarship players in 2011-12.

Assuming Orukpe shows up they would be Stutz, Hamilton, Coy, Manigault, Murry, Kyles, Orukpe, and one unknown recruit who would likely be a So.

It's going to be interesting to see who Marshall picks with his one available scholarship between now and when this year's Fr are Jrs.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I think it is safe to say he can be pretty selective.

The more I look at the graph, the more excited I get!

                Coming into:

                2008 - 7 years D1 experience, 5 years w/WSU, 2 juniors, 2 seniors
                2009 - 16 years D1 experience, 12 years w/WSU, 5 juniors, 2 seniors
                2010 - 23 years D1 experience, 21 years w/WSU, 3 juniors, 5 seniors

And take a look at our upper classmen for 2011.
And what if this includes EO.

Things change and will, but this is certainly a good sign for the future.

they key to our future is keeping Marshall as a coach so we can maintain consistency in the program and continue building on a veteran team. We can't afford another setback with a coaching change within the next 4-5 years. Hopefully Marshall will be around much longer than that.
