But I was wondering if anyone has seen Raphael play since he arrived at Sunrise? Or, is he still subject to limited action to protect the ankle?

Yes, interesting about Findlay and how strong of a team they are.

Yes and Yes. Just ask Ramon how he liked being guarded by him.

How old is he? Since he is at Sunrise, is he in his junior year there?

About the same size (6’-9”/225#) as ‘AC, The Big Dog’ was when he stepped foot on campus in the fall of 1979. He ‘beefed’ up to 265 when he played in the NBA.

Memories (‘may be beautiful and yet…’)… :D

Denny, do you know if Raphael plans to stay at Sunrise for his senior season? Their level of competition seems a little low to attract major talent.

Yes, he will be at Sunrise next year.

Sunrise has really upgraded their schedule the last few years. They play some weaker smaller schools but also play a lot of 3a-6a schools as well.
They beat Dodge and Liberal this year. If they were to play in the city league they would compete well with the middle of the pack on down. They play city league teams in their fall leagues.

As for Raphael he will be on a good AAU team this summer.

Nice reference. Made me sick to see how much Danny Manning made in comparison to X :posterwu: 8)

After observing Raphael's dunks at the HoopGroup Elite Camp, Alex Schwartz of Northstar Basketball calls him "very good."

This camp was in Reading, PA and had 600 campers, mostly from the East, with various levels of ability. Also doing well was Dominique Raney (OK, '11) who WSU started recruiting last year. Got to get him on the 2011 Summary! Quincy Taylor (Wichita Collegiate, '09) also was mentioned by Schwartz.

The Denny Crane Network is "on target" calling our attention to Raphael. He can play and I hope he totally recovers from his past injury. If he does recover, look for him to be a solid Division 1 player.

Does anyone including Denny Crane know if WSU is actually recruiting him and what is his actual classification.

Post play would be nice his FR year.

I believe those are correct and would make me very happy.
Don't forget Durley will be a senior. That would be the best grouping of big men we've had at WSU in a long long time.
