  • Potential recruit at center

In searching some older Hutch News articles for HCC info I came across this:

Headlining the group is sophomore Cliff Dixon, a 6-foot-10 transfer from Motlow State, Tenn. Dixon averaged 17.2 points and 10.1 rebounds a game last season.

Jerry Mullen, who helped host a junior college basketball showcase in June, said on the Web site www.collegecoaches.net, that Dixon could be the top junior college prospect in the nation.

Yes indeed. Their whole front line is worth watching. I've mentioned them in the '09 recruiting summary.

      Ah, hadn't seen that.

Actually, I think Javari Williams might be a better fit, assuming EO comes back the following year. Williams could be that guy to back up Hawkins for a year, then have two years as our starting SF. (He redshirted at Hutch last year).

Of course, this is a bit premature, as he hasn't even played a college game yet.

And on another Hutch note, they were voted #1 in the Jayhawk West by the coaches this season, despite only returning, I think, two players, neither of whom started.

I agree with Williams being the best fit.

Hutch and Chipola look like the Juco's to beat this year. It's nice to be close to Hutch and have an in with Chipola.
