  • Ryan Hare-LOI to SIU

A 6-4 SF/SG from Marshall High School in Chicago. IllinoisHSBasketball.com reports he has offers from WSU, UNLV, Ball State, Bradley, Colorado State, Illinois-Chicago, Indiana State and Northern Illinois. Three different rankings for '08 Illinois players has him ranked between #10 and #18. In comparison, Matt Roth was ranked between #11 and #19. A Scout 3 star. No stars yet on Rivals. Illinois was starting to show some interest in July according to Scout. He has the knack of getting baskets in traffic but is working on his point guard skills.

Since I mentioned Roth, this site said he had been offered by WSU. No other site ever stated an offer was made.

In early November, Hare backed out of his verbal to Oregon State. He didn't sign a LOI in the Fall. His recruitment is probably wide open at this point. There didn't appear to be a lot of interest between him and WSU when he made the verbal.

Current interested schools are Bradley, DePaul, McNeese State and Hawaii with Bradley and DePaul the leaders.

SIU is now the clear cut leader for Hare. However he still needs to up his test score so his eligibility is in question.

Speaking of SIU, the eligibility's of Roundtree and Booker are up in the air.

That would suck for SIU. Roundtree and Booker are both players and will/would have success.

                  Hare signs with Southern Illinois.

He chose SIU over Hawaii, and more notably....TEXAS A&M.

I won't go into the whole "At this level" thing, and hope that all that still have harsh feelings will chuckle and let it be.

                    Not yet

Unless SIU has a special exception to the rules, Downtown, Hare can't sign with them until Wednesday.

And SIU will have to wait a few weeks to see if he passed his test or the LOI will not help much.

Hare passes his test and will be in an SIU this Fall.
