Report on Pinson from the Kingwood Classic:

"Although he doesn't have the physical gifts of some others we saw, he made up for it in toughness as he was constantly around the ball and took his fair share of contact. He's fairly mature physically and isn't overly quick, but his intangibles look good, and that helps for a floor leader. Mid major prospect."

Not to be a downer, but he sounds 'run of the mill', and like any one of 300 point guards around the country. We need players that are 'cream of the crop'.

It sounded like you had to reach for positives, Trop, and like excuses for his negatives. If we lower our standards for players, it will hinder the whole team.

Back up plan if we dont get km? Got to say though i like our chances if km. Do u think are main purposes for the 09 class is a pg and a pf?

What trop just reported is probably higher praise than anything Matty B recieved during his recruitment. I would say this guy isn't the top priority but isn't a bad option if we can't land one of the top guys.

Also, I'm not sure what the top priority would be in '09. I would say we probably need to land a PF and then just about anyone else. Be it a PG, SG or SF.

The staff's 09 focus has to PG over PF. In fact, it is probable SF/PG, then center, then SG, then PF. We have two freshman centers, three PFs, three SGs (2 freshmen, 1 soph), two PG transfers, and only one SF (that will be a senior next year). You could make a case for AE being a SF, but I don't believe that will be where he starts at WSU. Even if it is, the next SF after AE would have to be TM, who would be playing slightly out of position IMO. If AE is a SF then I would think that PG is the priority with best available being the secondary target.

We'll lose 2 PFs after this season and return Durley, Blair and Ellis. Durley is still a question mark until he proves otherwise. Ellis is a combo forward who still may have better success at SF. Time will tell on that. We will have a SR and JR PG with a possibility of a SO PG in Kyles if that plays out.

Personally, my two favorite recruits for 09 are a PG and SG in KJ and Lane Adams. That's assuming we don't land Noel.

Is AJ eligible for 2 or 3 yars? If 2, then I would have to go with a High School PG and SF for 09.

                      KJ?

Excuse me, Sub, but who is KJ and why is it so hard to type a name instead of initials for the benefit of those of us who speak actual English instead of Text Message?

I realize it takes an instant longer, but then you might have just 10000 messages instead of 10900. Help us out, please.

Initials are not text message, if you want to see text message, go see any high school girl's text messages. I agree with the initials instead of typing out the actual names thing. is it that much harder to type out the guys' names instead of typing out initials? I have issues of not using the player's first names but that's another story.

I am with you watcher. I hate it when they just use initials. It dont take that much longer to use their actual name

It don't? (Grammar police, here). ;-) My only problem with using initials is when we, as now, talk about recruits. There are so many of them and unless you are intimately familiar with the names (as Sub is), you can get lost really quick. I have on more than one occasion gone back through prior posts or threads to try to figure out which recruit we are talking about. Once the season starts or the current roster is set, the intiital no longer bother me because you only have 15 or so to remember.
