After doing due diligence, I couldn't find this name associated with WSU on this site, so here goes ...

Kelly Lawson is a 6-7 PF from Pearland, TX, who is playing for the Franchize All-Stars AAU and is in the Class of 2009.

TexasHoops has him at # 58 and they list him at 6-8, 205 lbs. A 2 star on Scout.

WSU and TCU are coming on strong for Lawson. Lawson is still growing and is expected to hit 6-10.

Several new offers for Lawson, but not from WSU. Add TCU, Centenary, Army, Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri State and North Texas. No mention of the offer from Tulane.

WSU continues to have interest along with Air Force, Colorado State, Rutgers and Arizona State.

Lawson plans on cutting the list to four before school starts and taking some unofficials. Expect a decision before September 1st.

He wants to play as a CF and wants to play. Sounds like a bigger name won't have a major impact on him.

I'm not positive if he has the range to pull that off or not though...

Texas Hoops Analysis: KELLY is a solid built paint player with an active body. He works on the boards, has good hands, and finishes well in the paint. He can get to the rim from the elbow and competes on defense.

Lawson recently visited Sam Houston State and they have offered. He will be at Missouri State on the 26th and will probably take an unofficial to North Texas State after that. "It all depends on how much some of these schools like Wichita State are interested."

He's in no hurry. He's taken an official to Sam Houston St. Appears to still plan on visiting SWOMO. Also mentioned that North Texas wants a visit on the 24th and Colorado is expressing some interest.

I don't believe Kelly ever showed up at MSU. He went back to Sam Houston State on an official instead and he has now committed to Sam Houston State.
